The  apply lever applies 2nd gear. 2nd gear in the 47RE is a band that wraps around the front drum. This drum is spinning in first gear and when the band applies and stops this drum, you are now in 2nd gear.

There is a piston (servo) that fills with hydraulic fluid to apply the band. The  apply lever is in between the piston and the band itself. It acts like a pry bar. It causes a mechanical advantage.

The accumulators function is to assist with sealing the transmission for increased transmission life. The OEM accumulator is plastic and more easily distort creating leakage.
DTT’s accumulator is made from billet aluminum therefore offering much less distortion than the plastic OEM version.  DTT ‘s accumulator installs easily, its low  cost is an added bonus and the increased line pressure benefits makes it a must do when trying to obtain maximum longevity.

1996- 2007 with the 5.9
Symptoms : Transmission shifting in and out of gear or TC locking and unlocking under light to medium conditions between 40mph-60 mph. You can very often address many of the above symptoms by doing the following :

Look for any ground straps or electrical connections that may be loose or contaminated. Check battery terminals, look for bad chassis grounds, bad PCM connections , bad ECM connections.

This is a minor electrical glitch that is a pain in the butt and causes many transmission failures.

It can take a good 4- 5 hours to properly go over all the above I have mentioned.

In addition to the above we developed the DTT Noise Filter. We have been testing it for over a year in house and via our dealer base. It has addressed over 80% of the electrical noise we have encountered.

Here is what we found :

Testing has shown alternator noise spikes present in the TPS signal to the PCM. These noise spikes may be responsible for improper operation of the lockup circuit and/or the overdrive circuit. The more load on the alternator ( ie air conditioning , charging a low trailer battery etc.), the higher the amplitude of the spikes.

The main cause of this is the fact that Dodge has run the TPS harness wiring along with the alternator wires and noise is induced as a result. Testing has shown that the noise is not present in the TPS power supply from the PCM.

We were looking for an ecnomical filter system to try and address the electrical noise issues in these dodges. The DTT noise filter was a result of our testing.

TRANSMISSIONS LIVE AND DIE BY PRESSURE !

The main purpose of the DTT BILLET SERVO SYSTEM is to stop leakage in the 2nd gear and 3rd gear system. Eventually all transmissions will develop a certain amount of leakage. This can be caused by oil condition, mileage and especially the metal sealing rings used in many aftermarket systems and OEM that cause case wear in the bore.  

Of the hundreds of OEM and aftermarket transmissions DTT tested, leakage was evident and did vary above Chrysler specifications. Most of the actual leakage DTT found was caused by worn cases and worn servo covers.

How the system works is that when the 2nd gear servo applies your band, the centre of the OEM factory servo cover gets worn down creating leakage. As the leakage increases your 3rd gear holding capacity will decrease. It is not a question of does your cover leak; it’s a question of how much does it leak.
The DTT SERVO Cover utilizes a bushing and a lip seal preventing any leakage through the servo cover.
This innovative DTT SERVO design is unique as it utilizes custom lap jointed Teflon designed sealing rings that seals up the bore as the unit heats up, resulting in maximum sealing capacity resulting in increased longevity.
